August 2010
I guess our big news is that I have retired after 30 yrs here at North Syracuse Baptist, with a total of 46 yrs as a pastor.we have had some wonderful experiences ministering in many different countries.Amazing how interconnected our world is. My replacement here in Syracuse is related to Ida Scudder.
Our family keeps growing. Five adult children, spouses and 7 1/2 grandchildren.
Those formative years at Kodia keep reoccurring in our conversations with family and friends.

Earlier
Bob is a Basptist Pastor in Syracuse, NY. In 1946 his family moved to India as missionaries. Bob started going to Kodai in the 4th grade. Before then he went to a British school in Ooty. Bob went from Kodai to a High School of 5000 in Atlantic City, NJ, where he graduated!

He remembers getting on the bus to leave Kodai – David was leading a crew to see him off. Back in the states, sports was a big thing for him, particularly football and wrestling,.

An adventure he remembers is a class trip. We had gone down the ghat for a camping trip. That night around the camp fire Jim Graham was reading to us from Jim Corbets stories of man eating tigers. From across the valley came the roar of either a tiger or panther. Regardless , all of us charged back to the forest rangers house, locked the doors and windows.,and spent the rest of the night speculating on how bravely we would defend ourselves against this viscous cat. Not bad for 6th or 7th grade boys.

Bob has 2 masters degrees and he is presently writing hid doctoral dissertation on the effects of divorce on grandparents. On the side he is doing divorce counseling and teaching for an arm of the Campus Crusade. He had been back to India and Kodai. Bob and his wife, MaryAnn, have 4 children. Youngest is in high school. His daughter in Kenya. He has two sons in college. He have 4 grandchildren.
