2009 The end of May I flew to Hawaii to check out hotels and sightseeing for a Baptist World Conference being held in Honolulu in July of 2010. After 4 days in Honolulu, I had to island hop to Kauai, Maui and Hilo on the Big Island - someone has to do it! Even though I didn't have any free time until the last afternoon, I enjoyed my resort accommodations, sightseeing and eating fresh fabulous mangoes. The recession has hit the travel industry hard and the company closed our Asheville office the end of June and all of us are now home-based agents. I freaked out at the news, but now that the move has been made and things are functioning well, I am enjoying this change. And I am glad to still have a job!! 2010 is looks promising and I am staying busy so hope things will improve. None of the Betts' plan to retire anytime soon - guess we are workaholics or still have goals to reach.
